Bridal shower timeline

Bridal showers usually happen 2–4 months before the wedding — after the engagement buzz, before final wedding crunch. The host (often MOH or family) drives timing; the couple sets guest list boundaries.

  1. 4–5 months before

Confirm host & rough guest list with couple

Only invite people also invited to the wedding.

  2. 3 months before

Pick date, venue/home, theme; book catering if needed

Avoid the same weekend as bachelorette party.

  3. 6–8 weeks before shower

    Mail or send digital invites

Include registry link if gifts are expected.

  4. 1–2 weeks before

Confirm headcount, games, and day-of timeline

Keep shower schedule to 2–3 hours.

FAQ

Most are 2–4 months before the wedding. Very early showers feel disconnected; within 6 weeks of the wedding competes with final tasks.
Who plans the bridal shower?
